38 riders took the start line for the 1st round of 6, for the 2026 RTTC Classic Series hosted by Tavistock Wheelers CC. The course was changed at the last minute to the S40/25s following traffic light placement on the S5/25s. This prompted revised paperwork, a new HQ and a revised/signed PNF. Thanks to everyone that supported this process.
Riders set off from and returned to Lewdown with a light Westerly wind, in dry and fresh conditions. The Riders climbed 2,400 ft on the 25 mile course set in the AONB in West Devon. Conditions weren’t suited to quick times. However, there were some fantastic performances none the less.
Okehampton and Magicshine’s Lloyd Copp took the Open win in 01:02:53, followed by Solihull CC’s David Fellows in 01:03:15. Buckland Monachorum and Magicshine’s Tom Scorer took 3rd Place in 01:04:58.
Bexy Drew, Army Cycling, took the Female win in 01:15:13, Ellen Reynolds, Elevate RT, was 5 seconds further in 2nd, with 01:15:18 and popular Penzance Wheeler’s Beth Berriman taking 3rd place in 01:20:02. More results are attached. Thanks.
